Just like any animal products, egg yolk fat can increase your cholesterol and triglyceride level. Egg yolk (the yellow part of the egg) is quite heavy in fat so try as often as possible to separate the egg yolk from the white area and don't eat it.

Food you need to avoid to prevent a high Triglyceride level

Here are some food that you need to avoid eating (or at least eat them rarely) to avoid getting a high triglyceride level. Most of the food you need to avoid are deep fried ones, but here are some that you normally eat without you being aware of it:

  • Fried Dim Sim
  • Croissant (chocolate, plain, etc)
  • Butter
  • Kentucky Fried Chicken
  • Chips or French Fries
  • Deep fried meat (chicken, ribs, etc)
  • Roast Pork/Suckilng Pig
  • BBQ Pork
  • Pork Belly
  • Other fried or fatty ones
Those are just some of the food that you want to avoid altogether if you really want to keep your Triglyceride level at the right level. It's okay to feel longing for these food but please be considerate to your own body and keep them at minimal!

What is Triglyceride and is it different than Cholesterol?

Triglyceride is in a nutshell, the amount of fat circulated in your blood. As you can imagine, if the amount of fat in the blood is high, there can be dangerous results coming out of it, such as:

  • Stroke
  • Heart disesases
  • Blood coagulation
Triglyceride is really bad because of this. And most of the time, it's unclear when you can feel the symptoms. The only way (at times) to find out about your triglyceride levels is to take a blood test to find it out.
